Application of Biological Fixation Technology in the Treatment of Heavy Metal Polluted Soil

Soil remediation is also one of the tasks outlined in Earth Foods' goals. Consequently, Dr. Sim Yoke Leng, an associate professor at UTAR (University Tunku Abdul Rahman), was specifically commissioned to conduct experiments on the chelating effect of EF biochar compost on heavy metal-contaminated soil.

Dr. Sim prepared several groups of soil samples with varying levels of heavy metals, which were then mixed with Biochar (a common plant-based compost infused with EF's organic formula liquid, transforming it into compost with special soil remediation capabilities), and a series of observational experiments were conducted.

After experimentation, it was found that heavy metals in the soil underwent bioconversion and chelation processes through BioChar (EF-CE), resulting in a significant short-term fixation into inert substances, making them less prone to release.
