Rice is highly susceptible to cross-infection
The Rice Transitory Yellowing Virus (RTYV), transmitted persistently by Nephotettix leafhoppers, causes yellowing of the lower leaves and reduced tillering in infected rice plants. Its symptoms closely resemble those of tungro, orange leaf disease, and various physiological disorders.
