The Compost

Composting is vital for agriculture and environmental protection, transforming organic waste into nutrient-rich compost that improves soil structure, boosts crop yields, and supports resource recycling. Despite its potential, many composting failures occur due to the lack of unified standards, along with challenges in environmental control, raw material selection, and technical management. To address this, Earth Foods has developed high-temperature bacteria and streamlined the production process, enhancing standardization and innovation to produce high-quality compost for soil remediation.

Raw Material Collection

The raw materials for composting typically include agricultural waste, food processing waste, garden waste, etc. These materials are rich in organic matter and form the basis of compost.

Pre-treatment

Different pre-treatments are applied depending on the nature of the waste.

High-Temperature Composting Fermentation

Piling and Aeration: The raw materials are piled up and kept well-aerated to promote aerobic fermentation. Aeration can be achieved through natural ventilation or mechanical turning.

Temperature Control

By using our self-developed EF high-temperature bacteria, the temperature will rise during the initial fermentation stage, reaching 70°C to 80°C. This high temperature effectively kills pathogens and weed seeds. The temperature typically goes through three stages: the heating phase, the high-temperature phase, and the cooling phase.

Fungal Activity

When the compost temperature rises to between 50°C and 80°C, these fungi can reproduce in large quantities, with their mycelium forming a white, web-like structure on the surface or within the compost.

Upon digging beneath the surface of the compost, white mycelium can often be found, typically belonging to aerobic fungi. These fungi are particularly active during the high-temperature phase of composting, as they can break down complex organic substances like lignin and cellulose.

Impact of White Mycelium

The appearance of white mycelium is usually a sign of successful composting, indicating that the organic matter in the compost is being effectively decomposed, leading to an improvement in compost quality. Ultimately, this process can produce very high-quality organic compost, which serves as one of the best raw materials for creating organic-inorganic compound fertilizers (EF full-nutrient fertilizers).

Screening

The mature compost is screened to remove any large, undecomposed materials, ensuring the fineness of the compost.

Post-Treatment

Depending on market demand, the compost may undergo further processing, such as granulation or packaging.
